💻 Laptops have finally hit perfection

HP Spectre x360

A laptop might be the most crucial piece of tech in your arsenal, especially if you need to work on the road. I feel like laptops can finally do everything required and last long enough without recharging. Gone are the days of 45 minutes of work time before plugging in.

After defining my minimum requirements (i7, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, enough battery to last transatlantic flights, minimal bezel, USB C charging, and a 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio), there were only a few contenders. While Apple has options, I’m not sure I’ll ever switch from Windows (I’ll go to Linux first). At first, I tried the Dell XPS 13 from 2020, but unfortunately, I think I got a lemon since it couldn’t sleep/hibernate properly, only lasted a couple of hours, and took minutes to wake/restart. A battery replacement didn’t help, so I decided to cut my losses and move on to the other option I identified, the HP Spectre x360.

The HP Spectre x360 is hands-down the best laptop I’ve owned. It has been able to handle everything I’ve thrown at it. This list goes on with coding, basic gaming, videos, image editing, etc. I could do without the touchscreen/pen, but I have found it helpful in smaller airplane seats when I don’t have room to use the keyboard. I’ve also received comments on how nice it looks from airport security more than once!
